I'm back from Dayang. Well actually I got back on Sunday at 11 plus pm but I haven't had the time to blog. Well actually I do have the time and the will to blog but.. Yes. Lazy. Haha!
So there weren't whale sharks or manta rays, but it was an experience all the same. Esp with my new handy WP-DC16! Loved snapping away underwater.
Point #1 I noted when I met the other divers: My camera is so noob-ish compared to the pro divers. Theirs have strobe after strobe that seriously create much better lighting and My goodness, there was this camera that was so huge, I nicknamed it Spider. It was.. Just huge. Pros. Shall just stick to the handy WP-DC16 for now. Till I (eventually) save up for the external strobe. It makes a world of difference man.
Point #2 I noted when the sun finally peaked (we arrived at around 6am maybe?): Dayang is so freaking beautiful. Oggle/drool/jaw-dropping-ly beautiful. Best beach front I've seen that's not a picture.

Yes, right outside the accommodation (which is super basic but who cares when you're there only to sleep/eat? Haha!) I could've almost imagined I was in Bora Bora, except for the fact that the waters in Bora Bora look alot clearer cos it's mainly sand-bottomed whereas there're coral reefs right off the beach here.
The dives weren't fantastic but the underwater cam made the difference. Had so much fun snapping away that I took 800 pictures in just 2 and a half days. But compared to Bintan, this place is WOAH. Saw hoard after hoard of fishes that're so friendly they swim right up to you. And there was a huge humphead parrotfish we caught a glimpse off just before we ascended from our last dive. Perfect way to end it off!
I absolutely love the feelin of just getting away for one weekend and feeling as though all your problems never existed. It's really a different world underwater, to gaze upon God's creation as youve never seen it before and simply throw all your worries away. Then comes the disgusting feeling when you smell Singapore air once again. CTs, Nat Jnrs, Nats. Hate it.
And this trip has really got me itching to go for the advanced. Too bad I didn't have the time to this time round. But next time I will. Then I can hop onto the leisure boat and head out to deeper waters. And do night dives! Eddie, one of the leisure divers who was my instructor in Bintan, showed me pictures he took while diving. And I've learned that it doesn't matter where you dive, it matters how patient you are. It matters not the clarity of water, but the correct lighting. It matters not seeing what you really hoped to see, but the experience of looking for it. So it's no big deal where you dive, but how you carry out your dive! That's alot of points to take note of.
Bottom line is I'll definitely be back in Dayang again man. Remote but dang beautiful!
Some pictures
Me, Cousin.
Ring Bubble Blowing! Haha.
I really liked these small fishes amongst the coral. Haha.
And my all-time favourite fish!
That's all the pics for now, Blogger's being sucha masak (HAHA. Grace Yeo's vulgar word).
And my word, I need to study but the willpower's so weak. Oh well.
